Journal ArticleDOI

A review of combined power and cooling cycles

TL;DR: A review of combined power and cooling cycles for effective utilization of heat sources is presented in this paper, where the authors show that the additional output of refrigeration by the combined cycle provides greater benefit than conventional power systems.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Theoretical Analysis of a Water Desalination System Using Low Grade Solar Heat

TL;DR: Theoretical analysis of a solar desalination system utilizing an innovative new concept, which uses low-grade solar heat, is presented in this article, where natural forces are used to create vacuum conditions and its incorporation in a single system design where evaporation and condensation take place at appropriate locations without any energy input other than low grade heat.
Journal ArticleDOI

Evaluation of Pressure Drop and Particle Sphericity for an Air-rock Bed Thermal Energy Storage System☆

TL;DR: In this article, the pressure drop of a packed bed thermal energy storage system with irregular shaped solid pellets and tank-to-particle diameter ratio of 10.4 was investigated and the particle sphericity was calculated and compared to the measured values in the particle Reynolds number range of 353 ≤ Re p ≤ 5206.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of photocatalytic surface roughness on reactors effectiveness for indoor air cleaning

TL;DR: In this paper, an isosceles triangle shape with the bottom angle ( α ) equal to 75°, the relative height ( e / h ) equal 0.05, and the pitch ratio ( p / e ) equal 10.
Journal ArticleDOI

Solar Photochemical Detoxification and Disinfection for Water Treatment in Tropical Developing Countries

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of pH and concentration on the simultaneous disinfection and detoxification of water using TiO2 photocatalysis was investigated, and preliminary results indicate that this process is feasible for appropriate technology applications.
