Cryogenic strength of adhesive bridge joints for thermal insulation sandwich constructions
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors evaluated the performance of the adhesive bridge joint with level difference, which would be generated due to manufacturing tolerance, using both the new appropriate test method and FE analysis, and showed that the maximum deformation in the sandwich construction system may occur in the metal bridge between the two sandwich constructions.
Journal ArticleDOI
Experimental investigation of the static torque transmission capabilities of the adhesively bonded single lap joints
Jin Kyung Choi,Dai Gil Lee +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of the adhesive thickness on the static torque transmission capabilities of the adhesively bonded circular single lap joints have been investigated by the experimental method, and the dependencies of the joint srengths on the stacking sequences of the composite adherends were tested.
Journal ArticleDOI
Adhesion Characteristics of Carbon Black Embedded Glass/Epoxy Composite
TL;DR: In this paper, the surface of glass/epoxy composite material was embedded with carbon black which was dispersed in methyl ethyl ketone (MEK) during the curing process to enhance the adhesion strength of the composite structure.
Journal ArticleDOI
In situ Crack Propagation Monitoring in Tubular Adhesive Joints Containing Quartz Nano-particles
Soon Ho Yoon,Dai Gil Lee +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, the epoxy adhesive was mixed with quartz nano-particles which have much higher piezoelectric properties than epoxy adhesives, which increased the sensitivity of damage monitoring performance.
Journal ArticleDOI
Manufacturing of the composite screw rotors by resin transfer molding
TL;DR: In this paper, the composite screw rotor was manufactured with carbon fiber reinforced epoxy composite materials by resin transfer molding and the interfacial strength between the screw and the core shaft was tested with respect to the knurling size of the surface of the aluminum core shaft and the surface treatment.
