The Coma cluster magnetic field from Faraday rotation measures

TL;DR: In this article, the authors derived the magnetic field strength and power spectrum of the Coma cluster magnetic field from the Faraday rotation measure (RM) images with numerical simulations of magnetic field.
Journal ArticleDOI

Magnetic fields and Faraday rotation in clusters of galaxies

TL;DR: In this article, a numerical approach is presented to investigate the relationship between magnetic fields and Faraday rotation effects in clusters of galaxies. But the results show that the standard analytic expressions applied in the literature overestimate the cluster magnetic field strength by a factor of ∼2.
Journal ArticleDOI

A low-frequency radio halo associated with a cluster of galaxies

TL;DR: In this paper, a radio halo at low frequencies associated with the merging cluster Abell 521 is reported, which is consistent with a secondary origin of the relativistic electrons, but instead supports turbulent acceleration.
Journal ArticleDOI

GMRT radio halo survey in galaxy clusters at z = 0.2–0.4 - II. The eBCS clusters and analysis of the complete sample

TL;DR: In this article, the authors presented the results of the GMRT cluster radio halo survey, which measured which fraction of massive galaxy clusters in the redshift range z = 0.2 −0.4 hosts a radio Halo, and constrain the expectations of the particle re-acceleration model for the origin of the non-thermal radio emission.
Journal ArticleDOI

GMRT radio halo survey in galaxy clusters at z = 0.2–0.4 - I. The REFLEX sub-sample

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present the first results of an ongoing project devoted to the search of giant radio halos in galaxy clusters located in the redshift range z = 0.2-0.4.
