Journal ArticleDOI

The Position of Nitrogen in N‐Heteropentacenes Matters

TL;DR: This study leads to both p- and n-channel organic thin-film transistors with high field-effect mobility and reveals that the position of the N atoms plays an important role in tuning the structures and properties of organic semiconductors based on N-heteropentacenes.
Journal ArticleDOI

High-Quality Large-Area Graphene from Dehydrogenated Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons

TL;DR: In this article, a self-assembled approach from defect-free polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in a high vacuum (HV) chamber without hydrogen is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI

o-Carborane functionalized pentacenes: synthesis, molecular packing and ambipolar organic thin-film transistors

TL;DR: The results show that the alkyl substituents on the second cage carbon have a significant impact on the molecular packing, and the incorporation of the o-carboranyl moiety into a π conjugated system can lower both LUMO and HOMO energy levels, converting a typical p-type semiconductor into an ambipolar one.
Journal ArticleDOI

Self‐Assembled Monolayers of Phosphonic Acids with Enhanced Surface Energy for High‐Performance Solution‐Processed N‐Channel Organic Thin‐Film Transistors

TL;DR: Novel SAMs of phosphonic acids are reported, which are completely wettable by various organic solvents because of the enhanced surface energy of the SAMs, leading to solution-processed n-channel organic thin-film transistors (OTFTs) with average field effect mobility as high as 1.6 cmV 1 s.
