Journal ArticleDOI

I h contributes to increased motoneuron excitability in restless legs syndrome

TL;DR: Evidence is provided of increased hyperpolarization‐activated cyclic nucleotide‐gated (HCN) channel‐mediated inward rectification in motor axons, which indicates that an increased HCN current in motoneurons may play a pathophysiological role, such that these channels could represent a valuable target for pharmaceutical intervention.
Journal ArticleDOI

Weak short-latency spinal projections to the long flexor of the human thumb

TL;DR: In peri-stimulus time histograms, short-latency, largely monosynaptic excitation produced by median nerve stimulation was significantly less frequent and significantly smaller for FPL motor units than FCR motor units, suggesting that the motoneurone pools of adjacent muscles differ in their spinal reflex accessibility.
Journal ArticleDOI

Axonal excitability in primary amyloidotic neuropathy

TL;DR: Amyloid‐related neuropathy does not produce a change in membrane potential as either a primary or secondary event, which suggests that ischemia and axonal compression are unlikely mechanisms for the neuropathy.
