Journal ArticleDOI
Myocardial Contractile Dysfunction Is Associated With Impaired Mitochondrial Function and Dynamics in Type 2 Diabetic but Not in Obese Patients
David Montaigne,Xavier Marechal,Augustin Coisne,Nicolas Debry,Thomas Modine,Georges Fayad,Charlotte Potelle,Jean-Marc El Arid,Stéphanie Mouton,Yasmine Sebti,Hélène Duez,Sebastien Preau,Isabelle Remy-Jouet,Farid Zerimech,Mohamed Koussa,Vincent Richard,Remi Neviere,Jean-Louis Edmé,Philippe Lefebvre,Bart Staels +19 more
TL;DR: Worsening of intrinsic myocardial contraction in the transition from obesity to diabetes mellitus is likely related to worsening of cardiac mitochondrial function because impaired mitochondrial function and dynamics and contractile dysfunction are observed in diabetic patients but not in “metabolic healthy” obese patients at early stage in insulin resistance.
Journal ArticleDOI
Daytime variation of perioperative myocardial injury in cardiac surgery and its prevention by Rev-Erbα antagonism: a single-centre propensity-matched cohort study and a randomised study
David Montaigne,Xavier Marechal,Xavier Marechal,Xavier Marechal,Thomas Modine,Augustin Coisne,Stéphanie Mouton,Georges Fayad,Sandro Ninni,Cedric Klein,Staniel Ortmans,Claire Seunes,Charlotte Potelle,Alexandre Berthier,Alexandre Berthier,Alexandre Berthier,Céline Gheeraert,Céline Gheeraert,Céline Gheeraert,Catherine Piveteau,Catherine Piveteau,Catherine Piveteau,Rebecca Deprez,Rebecca Deprez,Rebecca Deprez,Jérôme Eeckhoute,Jérôme Eeckhoute,Jérôme Eeckhoute,Hélène Duez,Hélène Duez,Hélène Duez,Dominique Lacroix,Benoit Deprez,Benoit Deprez,Benoit Deprez,Bruno Jegou,Mohamed Koussa,Jean-Louis Edmé,Philippe Lefebvre,Philippe Lefebvre,Philippe Lefebvre,Bart Staels +41 more
TL;DR: Whether myocardial tolerance of ischaemia-reperfusion differed depending on the timing of aortic valve replacement surgery (morning vs afternoon), as measured by the occurrence of major adverse cardiovascular events is assessed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Endothelial glycocalyx damage during endotoxemia coincides with microcirculatory dysfunction and vascular oxidative stress.
Xavier Marechal,Raphael Favory,Olivier Joulin,David Montaigne,Sidi Mohamed Hassoun,Brigitte Decoster,Farid Zerimech,Remi Neviere +7 more
TL;DR: The findings support the conclusion that LPS induces major microcirculation dysfunction accompanied by microvascular oxidative stress and glycocalyx degradation that may be limited by activated protein C treatment.
Journal ArticleDOI
PPAR control of metabolism and cardiovascular functions
TL;DR: Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-α (PPARα), PPARδ and PPARγ are transcription factors that regulate gene expression following ligand activation as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Outcomes of Patients With Asymptomatic Aortic Stenosis Followed Up in Heart Valve Clinics.
Patrizio Lancellotti,Julien Magne,Raluca Elena Dulgheru,Marie-Annick Clavel,Erwan Donal,Mani A. Vannan,John C. Chambers,Raphael Rosenhek,Gilbert Habib,Guy Lloyd,Stefano Nistri,Madalina Garbi,Stella Marchetta,Khalil Fattouch,Augustin Coisne,David Montaigne,Thomas Modine,Laurent Davin,Olivier Gach,Marc Radermecker,Shizhen Liu,Linda D. Gillam,Andrea Rossi,Elena Galli,Federica Ilardi,Lionel Tastet,Romain Capoulade,Robert Zilberszac,E. Mara Vollema,Victoria Delgado,Bernard Cosyns,Stephane Lafitte,Anne Bernard,Luc Pierard,Jeroen J. Bax,Philippe Pibarot,Cécile Oury +36 more
TL;DR: In patients with asymptomatic AS followed up in heart valve centers, the risk of sudden death is low, rates of overall survival are similar to those reported from previous series, and the potential benefit of early intervention should be considered.
