Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of fungicides on the development of Fusarium head blight, yield and deoxynivalenol accumulation in wheat inoculated under field conditions with Fusarium graminearum and Fusarium culmorum
Miriam Haidukowski,Michelangelo Pascale,Giancarlo Perrone,Davide Pancaldi,Claudio Campagna,Angelo Visconti +5 more
TL;DR: Regression analysis showed a strong correlation of disease severity with DON levels (positive correlation) and with yields or TGW (negative correlation) for individual cultivars and locations.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of fungicides on Fusarium head blight and deoxynivalenol content in durum wheat grain
TL;DR: A single application of prochloraz, tebuconazole, epoxiconazole or bromuconazoles, applied to durum wheat varieties at the manufacturer's recommended dose at the beginning of anthesis stage, provided good control of the disease when infective pressure in the field was low to medium, and when the main pathogens were F. graminearum and F. culmorum.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of prothioconazole-based fungicides on Fusarium head blight, grain yield and deoxynivalenol accumulation in wheat under field conditions
Miriam Haidukowski,Angelo Visconti,Giancarlo Perrone,Sebastiano Istituto di Scienze Vanadia,Davide Pancaldi,Lorenzo Covarelli,Roberto Balestrazzi,Michelangelo Pascale +7 more
TL;DR: Results showed that the application of fungicides containing prothioconazole at the beginning of anthesis provided a strong reduction of FHB disease, allowing both an increase in grain yields and a considerable reduction of DON content in wheat kernels.
Journal ArticleDOI
Identification of deoxynivalenol and nivalenol producing chemotypes of fusarium graminearum isolates from durum wheat in a restricted area of northern italy
TL;DR: The variability of the strains in such a restricted area leads us to hypothesize that there is similar variability of F. graminearum throughout Italy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Survey of the main causal agents of fusarium head blight of durum wheat around Bologna, northern Italy
Davide Pancaldi,Stefano Tonti,Antonio Prodi,Daiana Salomoni,Mauro Dal Pra,Paola Nipoti,I. Alberti,Annamaria Pisi +7 more
TL;DR: Several Fusarium species and Microdochium nivale are involved in fusarium head blight (FHB), which in Italy has been constantly present on wheat since 1995, and identifying and characterize the main species involved in the FHB syndrome will help establish control strategies that will contain the disease and the content of mycotoxins in food and animal feed.
