Toxigenic Fusarium species and mycotoxins associated with head blight in small-grain cereals in Europe

TL;DR: The most frequently encountered Fusarium mycotoxins in FHB in Europe has proved to be deoxynivalenol and zearalenone produced by F. graminearum and F. culmorum with the former more common in southern (warmer) and the latter in northern (colder) European areas.
Journal ArticleDOI

Comparative genome sequence analysis underscores mycoparasitism as the ancestral life style of Trichoderma

Christian P. Kubicek, +64 more
- 18 Apr 2011 -
TL;DR: A better understanding of mycoparasitism is offered, and the development of improved biocontrol strains for efficient and environmentally friendly protection of plants is enforced.
Journal ArticleDOI

Identification and nomenclature of the genus Penicillium.

TL;DR: The nomenclatural list is updated and a standard working method for species descriptions and identifications to be adopted by laboratories working on Penicillium is recommended, thereby supplying a verified set of sequences for each species of the genus.
Book ChapterDOI

Epidemiology of Toxigenic Fungi and their Associated Mycotoxins for Some Mediterranean Crops

TL;DR: Recent data on the epidemiology of the common mycotoxigenic species of Fusarium, Alternaria, Aspergillus and Penicillium in infected or colonized plants, and in stored or processed plant products from the Mediterranean area are reviewed.
