Microbiome and Microbial Biofilm Profiles of Peri-Implantitis: A Systematic Review.
Gloria Inés Lafaurie,María Alejandra Sabogal,Diana Marcela Castillo,Maria Victoria Rincon,Luz Amparo Gómez,Yamil Augusto Lesmes,Leandro Chambrone,Leandro Chambrone +7 more
TL;DR: Peri-implantitis represents a heterogeneous mixed infection that includes periodontopathic microorganisms, uncultable asaccharolytic anaerobic Gram-positive rods and other uncultivable Gram-negative rods, and, rarely, opportunistic microorganisms such as enteric rods and Staphylococcus aureus.
Journal ArticleDOI
Periodontopathic microorganisms in peripheric blood after scaling and root planing
Gloria Inés Lafaurie,Isabel Mayorga-Fayad,María Fernanda Torres,Diana Marcela Castillo,María del Rosario Aya,Alexandra Barón,Paola Andrea Hurtado +6 more
TL;DR: It is found that SRP induced bacteraemia associated with anaerobic bacteria, especially in patients with periodontal disease, is more frequently immediately after treatment; however, 19% of the patients still had microorganisms in the bloodstream 30 min. after the procedure.
Journal ArticleDOI
Demographic, clinical, and microbial aspects of chronic and aggressive periodontitis in Colombia: a multicenter study.
Gloria Inés Lafaurie,Adolfo Contreras,Alexandra Barón,Javier Enrique Botero,Isabel Mayorga-Fayad,Adriana Jaramillo,Astrid Giraldo,Ferney González,Sergio Mantilla,Alejandro Botero,Luz Helena Archila,Antonio Díaz,Tatiana Chacón,Diana Marcela Castillo,Marisol Betancourt,María del Rosario Aya,Roger M. Arce +16 more
TL;DR: P. gingivalis, T. forsythensis, and C. rectus are the most prevalent periodontophatic microorganisms in Colombia and the microbiota may vary by geographic region.
Journal ArticleDOI
Detection of specific periodontal microorganisms from bacteraemia samples after periodontal therapy using molecular‐based diagnostics
Diana Marcela Castillo,María Carmen Sánchez-Beltrán,Jaime E. Castellanos,Ignacio Sanz,Isabel Mayorga-Fayad,Mariano Sanz,Gloria Inés Lafaurie +6 more
TL;DR: Nested PCR demonstrated the presence of DNA fromperiodontal pathogens in blood samples in severe periodontitis patients before, during and after periodontal therapy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Periodontal Disease in Individuals With a Genetic Risk of Developing Arthritis and Early Rheumatoid Arthritis: A Cross-Sectional Study
Juan Manuel Bello-Gualtero,Gloria Inés Lafaurie,Lida X. Hoyos,Diana Marcela Castillo,Juliette De-Avila,Juan Carlos Munevar,Sonia Unriza,John Londoño,Rafael Valle-Oñate,Rafael Valle-Oñate,Consuelo Romero-Sánchez,Consuelo Romero-Sánchez,Consuelo Romero-Sánchez +12 more
TL;DR: This study shows that individuals with pre-RA have significant inflammatory periodontal involvement and markers of RA activity in individuals with eRA.
