Current management and perspectives for HCV recurrence after liver transplantation
TL;DR: The preliminary results of triple therapy with boceprevir or telaprevir in terms of efficacy and safety in liver transplant recipients are described, indicating a new era in HCV‐associated liver disease.
Journal ArticleDOI
Toward optimizing the indications for orthotopic liver transplantation in hepatocellular carcinoma
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a liver transplant for patients with chronic liver disease (HCC) based on the Milan criteria, i.e., patients who are expected to have the same post-transplant survival as that of patients with non-neoplastic end-stage chronic liver diseases.
Journal ArticleDOI
Histological features predictive of recurrence of primary biliary cirrhosis after liver transplantation.
TL;DR: The presence of plasma cells in the portal infiltrate at 1 year after transplant was predictive of this risk of recurrence of primary biliary cirrhosis, and the presence of anti-mitochondrial antibody-2 (anti-M2) antibodies remained at high titers in five of the six patients.
Journal ArticleDOI
Liver stiffness measurement by transient elastography predicts late posthepatectomy outcomes in patients undergoing resection for hepatocellular carcinoma.
Muthukumarassamy Rajakannu,Daniel Cherqui,Oriana Ciacio,Nicolas Golse,Gabriella Pittau,Marc Antoine Allard,Teresa Antonini,Audrey Coilly,Antonio Sa Cunha,Denis Castaing,Didier Samuel,Catherine Guettier,René Adam,Eric Vibert,Eric Vibert +14 more
TL;DR: In selected patients undergoing liver resection for hepatocellular carcinoma, transient elastography is an easy and effective test to predict persistent hepatic decompensation preoperatively.
Journal ArticleDOI
Management of patients with liver diseases on the waiting list for transplantation: a major impact to the success of liver transplantation
Didier Samuel,Audrey Coilly +1 more
TL;DR: There is a diversity of patients on the waiting list for transplantation and equity should be preserved between those with cirrhosis of high and intermediate severity and those with HCC.
