pH-responsive alginate-based hydrogels for protein delivery
Diego de Souza Lima,Ernandes T. Tenório-Neto,Michele K. Lima-Tenório,Marcos R. Guilherme,Débora B. Scariot,Celso Vataru Nakamura,Edvani C. Muniz,Adley F. Rubira +7 more
TL;DR: Results show that the pH-responsive hydrogels based on alginate are ideally suited for use as an oral drug delivery device.
Journal ArticleDOI
Potential anti-diabetic properties of Merlot grape pomace extract: An in vitro, in silico and in vivo study of α-amylase and α-glucosidase inhibition.
Camila Gabriel Kato-Schwartz,Rúbia Carvalho Gomes Corrêa,Diego de Souza Lima,Anacharis Babeto de Sá-Nakanishi,Geferson de Almeida Gonçalves,Flavio Augusto Vicente Seixas,Charles Windson Isidoro Haminiuk,Lillian Barros,Isabel C.F.R. Ferreira,Adelar Bracht,Rosane Marina Peralta +10 more
TL;DR: The results suggest that the MGPE can be adequate for maintaining normal blood levels after food ingestion, and indicates that several phenolic substances were the most likely polyphenols responsible for the α-amylase inhibition caused by MGPE.
Journal ArticleDOI
Synthesis and drug release profile of a dual-responsive poly(ethylene glycol) hydrogel nanocomposite
Ernandes T. Tenório-Neto,Ernandes T. Tenório-Neto,Diego de Souza Lima,Marcos R. Guilherme,Michele K. Lima-Tenório,Michele K. Lima-Tenório,Débora B. Scariot,Celso Vataru Nakamura,Marcos H. Kunita,Adley F. Rubira +9 more
TL;DR: A pH- and magnetic-responsive PEG hydrogel (HG) nanocomposite as a platform for drug delivery and of great pharmacological potential as drug carriers in drug delivery is described.
Journal ArticleDOI
In silico evaluation of condensed and hydrolysable tannins as inhibitors of pancreatic α-amylase.
Paulo Sérgio Alves Bueno,Camila Gabriel Kato-Schwartz,Diego de Souza Lima,Adelar Bracht,Rosane Marina Peralta,Flavio Augusto Vicente Seixas +5 more
TL;DR: The structure of the porcine pancreatic α-amylase was modelled with the acarbose pentasaccharide inhibitor, and used in structure-based virtual screening simulations based on a library containing the structures of amylose, acarbOSE and the more representative structures of condensed tannin (CTN) and hydrolysable tANNin (HTN).
Journal ArticleDOI
Dopamine docking studies of biologically active metabolites from Curcuma longa L.
Danilo Magnani Bernardi,Juliana Marchi,Cíntia de Souza Alferes Araújo,Vanessa Rodrigues Nascimento,Diego de Souza Lima,Samantha Wietzikoski,Marcelo Machado Ferro,Edmar Miyoshi,Francislaine Aparecida dos Reis Lívero,Flavio Augusto Vicente Seixas,Evellyn Claudia Wietzikoski Lovato +10 more
TL;DR: A molecular docking study of D2, D3, and D4 receptor interactions with 92 metabolites from Curcuma longa is performed using an in silico approach to identify compounds for possible drug development.
