Journal ArticleDOI

Self-Assembly of Tetra- and Hexanuclear Circular Helicates

TL;DR: The self-assembly of the tris-bipyridine ligands BI and BII with iron(II) salts yields polynuclear complexes displaying structures of cyclic double-helix type, termed circular helicates [n]cH (of order n).
Journal ArticleDOI

Size-Dependent Optical Spectroscopy of a Homologous Series of CdSe Cluster Molecules

TL;DR: The optical properties and electronic structure of a homologous series of CdSe cluster molecules covering a size range between 0.7 and 2 nm are investigated and temporary darkening is assigned to the photoinduced charging of the cluster-molecule surface ligands, resembling the reversible on-off blinking of the emission observed for larger Cd Se nanocrystals.
Journal ArticleDOI

Chalcogenide clusters of copper and silver from silylated chalcogenide sources.

TL;DR: This review summarizes the rich structural variety of copper and silver chalcogenide clusters with protecting ligand shells of phosphane and/or organic ligands that were generated starting out from silylated chalCogenide sources, demonstrating the clusters to be understood as intermediates between mononuclear complexes and binary bulk phases.
