TL;DR: In this paper, a method of contouring three-dimensional objects using an out-of-plane sensitive ESPI apparatus with optical fibers is presented, where the contour map is obtained by shifting the object illumination beam.

TL;DR: In this paper, a digital speckle pattern interferometer with optical fibres is proposed for composite materials diagnostics in an operative environment, which can detect disbonds, delaminations and cracks in aircraft components.
Abstract: A digital speckle pattern interferometer with optical fibres is proposed for composite materials diagnostics in an operative environment. Detection of a variety of flaws, such as disbonds, delaminations and cracks in aircraft components, is reported. Additional fringes are introduced for linearizing the fringe pattern and obtaining quantitative deformation measurements by Fourier transform analysis.

TL;DR: A Fourier transform algorithm for practical processing in terms of phase distribution of TV speckle interferograms in quantitative measurements of isothermal diffusion coefficient of transparent mixtures is discussed in this paper.
Abstract: A Fourier transform algorithm for practical processing in terms of phase distribution of TV speckle interferograms in quantitative measurements of isothermal diffusion coefficient of transparent mixtures is discussed. Some applications illustrating the fringe analysis for diffusivity measurements of a binary liquid mixture are presented.

TL;DR: In this paper, the use of TV-holography for non-destructive diagnostics of the state of conservation and preservation of artworks has been demonstrated in revealing debonds, cracks, voids, delaminations or residual stress in both paintings on wooden panels, statuaries and mural supports.
Abstract: TV-holography can hold a great potential in non-destructive diagnostics of the state of conservation and preservation of artworks. Its use in revealing debonds, cracks, voids, delaminations or residual stress in both ancient paintings on wooden panels, statuaries and mural supports has been proven. The method is easy to apply and very functional for the basic objectives of conservation; its compactness enables detection of microdisplacements even in non laboratory environments. Measurements in field of microcracks and subsurface detachments on ancient frescoes and panel paintings are reported.

TL;DR: In this article, a digital double exposure speckle system was developed for in situ measurements of in-plane displacements or deformations, and a fast Fourier transform algorithm with an inexpensive computer was applied to obtain fringe patterns of Young's type.
Abstract: A digital double-exposure speckle system is developed for in situ measurements of in-plane displacements or deformations. A fast Fourier transform algorithm with an inexpensive computer is applied to obtain fringe patterns of Young's type: some applications of the method to stone samples under mechanical stresses, for determining the extent of movements in the vicinity of pre-deteriorated areas, like cracks, are reported.

TL;DR: In this paper, an instrument was developed for the semi-continuous measurement of aerosol mass and its categorization into three classes, i.e., 15, 4 and 2 µm.
Abstract: This paper describes an instrument developed for the semi-continuous measurement of aerosol mass and its categorization into three classes. These classes have been chosen to evaluate the health hazards of the inhalable particles. The instrument performs sampling through three probes, each providing different cut-points (~15, ~4 and ~2 µm) and collecting airborne particles on circular membrane filters. The increase in weight is measured with the beta-rays attenuation method.
