Mini-thoracotomy vs. conventional sternotomy mitral valve surgery: a systematic review and meta-analysis
Abdullah S. Al Otaibi,Saurabh Gupta,Emilie P. Belley-Côté,Ali Alsagheir,Jessica Spence,Jessica Spence,Dominic Parry,Richard P. Whitlock,Richard P. Whitlock +8 more
TL;DR: The preliminary results suggest that MT-MVS is a safe and potentially beneficial approach to the surgical management of mitral valve disease, however, current evidence is of low quality and larger, more methodologically rigorous randomized trials are required.
Journal ArticleDOI
Hemodynamic outcomes of the Ross procedure versus other aortic valve replacement: a systematic review and meta-analysis.
Kevin J. Um,Graham R. McClure,Emilie P. Belley-Côté,Emilie P. Belley-Côté,Saurabh Gupta,Ismail Bouhout,Hugo Lortie,Hatim Alraddadi,Ali Alsagheir,Matthias Bossard,Matthias Bossard,William F. McIntyre,William F. McIntyre,A. Lengyel,John W. Eikelboom,John W. Eikelboom,Maral Ouzounian,Michael W.A. Chu,Dominic Parry,Ismail El-Hamamsy,Richard P. Whitlock,Richard P. Whitlock +21 more
TL;DR: Compared to conventional AVR, the Ross procedure was associated with better aortic valve hemodynamics and the evidence for all outcomes from observational studies was deemed to be of very low quality, while the evidence from RCTs was downgraded for imprecision and moderately serious risk of bias.
Journal ArticleDOI
The ross procedure: a systematic review and meta-analysis
Graham R. McClure,Emilie P. Belley-Côté,Kevin J. Um,Saurabh Gupta,Ismail Bouhout,H. Lortie,H. Alradaddi,Ali Alsagheir,William F. McIntyre,Maral Ouzounian,Michael W.A. Chu,Dominic Parry,I. El Hamamsy,Richard P. Whitlock +13 more
Journal ArticleDOI
The Ross procedure versus prosthetic and homograft aortic valve replacement: a systematic review and meta-analysis
Graham R. McClure,Emilie P. Belley-Côté,Emilie P. Belley-Côté,Kevin J. Um,Saurabh Gupta,Ismail Bouhout,Hugo Lortie,Hatim Alraddadi,Ali Alsagheir,William F. McIntyre,Dan M Dorobantu,Matthias Bossard,Kevin Kim,Serban Stoica,John Eikelboom,John Eikelboom,Maral Ouzounian,Michael W.A. Chu,Dominic Parry,Ismail El-Hamamsy,Richard P. Whitlock,Richard P. Whitlock +21 more
TL;DR: Observational data, with residual confounding, and RCT data suggest a late survival benefit with the Ross procedure with no increased risk of reintervention when compared to conventional AVR.
Journal ArticleDOI
Comparison of Heart Team vs Interventional Cardiologist Recommendations for the Treatment of Patients With Multivessel Coronary Artery Disease.
Michael B. Tsang,J-D Schwalm,Sumeet Gandhi,Sumeet Gandhi,Matthew Sibbald,Amiram Gafni,Mathew Mercuri,Omid Salehian,Andre Lamy,Dan Pericak,Sanjit S. Jolly,Tej Sheth,Craig Ainsworth,James L. Velianou,Nicholas Valettas,Shamir R. Mehta,Natalia Pinilla,Bobby Yanagawa,Bobby Yanagawa,Li Zhang,Victor Chu,Dominic Parry,Dominic Parry,Richard P. Whitlock,Adel Dyub,Irene Cybulsky,Lloyd Semelhago,Kostas Ioannou,Kostas Ioannou,Adnan Hameed,Douglas Wright,Amin Mulji,Saeed Darvish-Kazem,Saeed Darvish-Kazem,Nandini Gupta,Ahmed Alshatti,Madhu K. Natarajan +36 more
TL;DR: The study’s findings indicated that heart team recommendations differed from those of the original treating interventional cardiologist in approximately one-third of cases; this subset of cases was associated with a greater number of divergent opinions between interventionalCardiologists and within the heart team.
