Accurate neurosonographic prediction of brain injury in the surviving fetus after the death of a monochorionic cotwin
Giuliana Simonazzi,M. Segata,Tullio Ghi,Fabrizio Sandri,Gina Ancora,Bruno De Bernardi,Giovanni Tani,Nicola Rizzo,Donatella Santini,P. Bonasoni,Gianluigi Pilu +10 more
TL;DR: To assess the feasibility of the prenatal diagnosis using fetal neurosonography of brain injuries in the surviving fetus after the demise of a monochorionic cotwin, a large number of studies have found that this diagnosis is feasible.
Journal ArticleDOI
Loss of retinoblastoma tumor suppressor protein makes human breast cancer cells more sensitive to antimetabolite exposure.
Massimo Derenzini,Giulio Donati,Giuliano Mazzini,Lorenzo Montanaro,Manuela Vici,Claudio Ceccarelli,Donatella Santini,Mario Taffurelli,Davide Treré +8 more
TL;DR: The absence of pRB expression renders human breast cancer cells more sensitive to 5-FU and methotrexate and predicts a good clinical outcome for patients treated with adjuvant chemotherapy, and it is suggested that patients with RB-negative breast cancers should be treated with systemic chemotherapy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Peroxisome Proliferator Activated Receptor-α/Hypoxia Inducible Factor-1α Interplay Sustains Carbonic Anhydrase IX and Apoliprotein E Expression in Breast Cancer Stem Cells
Alessio Papi,Gianluca Storci,Tiziana Guarnieri,Sabrina De Carolis,Sara Bertoni,Nicola Avenia,Alessandro Sanguinetti,Angelo Sidoni,Donatella Santini,Claudio Ceccarelli,Mario Taffurelli,Marina Orlandi,Massimiliano Bonafè +12 more
TL;DR: The data demonstrate the importance of exploring the role of nuclear receptors (PPARα/PPARγ) in the regulation of pro-inflammatory pathways, with the aim to thwart breast cancer stem cells functioning.
Journal ArticleDOI
Presence and type of oncogenic human papillomavirus in classic and in differentiated vulvar intraepithelial neoplasia and keratinizing vulvar squamous cell carcinoma.
Francesca Bonvicini,Simona Venturoli,Simone Ambretti,Paola Paterini,Donatella Santini,Claudio Ceccarelli,Marialuisa Zerbini,Monica Musiani +7 more
TL;DR: The absolute absence of HPV DNA in differentiated vulvar intraepithelial neoplasias and in keratinizing vulvar squamous cell carcinoma suggests a strong HPV‐independent pathway of malignant progression to invasive carcinoma.
Journal ArticleDOI
Quantitative p21WAF-1/p53 immunohistochemical analysis defines groups of primary invasive breast carcinomas with different prognostic indicators
Claudio Ceccarelli,Donatella Santini,Pasquale Chieco,C. Lanciotti,Mario Taffurelli,G. Paladini,Domenico Marrano +6 more
TL;DR: In the P53H group, both p53 and Ki‐67 were inversely associated with both estrogen receptor (ER) and progesterone receptor (PGR), suggesting that extensive p53 immunostaining is related to poor differentiation and high proliferation.
