Journal ArticleDOI
Neutralizing Activities against the Omicron Variant after a Heterologous Booster in Healthy Adults Receiving Two Doses of CoronaVac Vaccination
Suvichada Assawakosri,Sitthichai Kanokudom,Nungruthai Suntronwong,Chompoonut Auphimai,Pornjarim Nilyanimit,Preeyaporn Vichaiwattana,Thanunrat Thongmee,Thaneeya Duangchinda,Warangkana Chantima,Pattarakul Pakchotanon,Donchida Srimuan,T. Thatsanatorn,Sirapa Klinfueng,Ritthideach Yorsaeng,Natthinee Sudhinaraset,Nasamon Wanlapakorn,Juthathip Mongkolsapaya,Sittisak Honsawek,Yong Poovorawan +18 more
TL;DR: All four booster vaccines significantly increased binding and NAbs in individuals immunized with two doses of CoronaVac, and the present evidence may benefit vaccine strategies development to thwart variants of concern, including the omicron variant.
Journal ArticleDOI
Safety and immunogenicity of heterologous and homologous inactivated and adenoviral-vectored COVID-19 vaccine regimens in healthy adults: a prospective cohort study
Nasamon Wanlapakorn,Nungruthai Suntronwong,Harit Phowatthanasathian,Ritthideach Yorsaeng,Preeyaporn Vichaiwattana,Thanunrat Thongmee,Chompoonut Auphimai,Donchida Srimuan,T. Thatsanatorn,Suvichada Assawakosri,Sitthichai Kanokudom,Yong Poovorawan +11 more
TL;DR: Heterologous CoronaVac followed by ChAdOx1-S can be considered as an alternative regimen to homologous efficacy-proven Ch adenoviral vector in countries with circulating variants in light of intermittent supply shortages of individual vaccines.
Journal ArticleDOI
Assessing the reactogenicity of Tdap vaccine administered during pregnancy and antibodies to Bordetella pertussis antigens in maternal and cord sera of Thai women.
Nasamon Wanlapakorn,Kirsten Maertens,Surasith Chaithongwongwatthana,Donchida Srimuan,Narissara Suratannon,Sompong Vongpunsawad,Thao Mai Phuong Tran,Niel Hens,Niel Hens,Pierre Van Damme,Camille Locht,Yong Poovorawan,Elke Leuridan +12 more
TL;DR: The reactogenicity of Tdap vaccine administered during pregnancy was not affected by prior tetanus toxoid immunization, and high transplacental antibody against B. pertussis antigens in the cord blood provides evidence of antibody transfer and should thus help to protect newborns from pertussi during early life.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effects of boosted mRNA and adenoviral‐vectored vaccines on immune responses to omicron BA.1 and BA.2 following the heterologous CoronaVac/AZD1222 vaccination
Nungruthai Suntronwong,Sitthichai Kanokudom,Chompoonut Auphimai,Suvichada Assawakosri,Thanunrat Thongmee,Preeyaporn Vichaiwattana,Thaneeya Duangchinda,Warangkana Chantima,Pattarakul Pakchotanon,Jira Chansaenroj,Jiratchaya Puenpa,Pornjarim Nilyanimit,Donchida Srimuan,T. Thatsanatorn,Natthinee Sudhinaraset,Nasamon Wanlapakorn,Juthathip Mongkolsapaya,Yong Poovorawan +17 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that mRNA booster vaccination is able to overcome waning immunity to provide antibodies that neutralize omicron BA.1 and BA.2, as well as a T‐cell response.
Journal ArticleDOI
COVID-19 Breakthrough Infection after Inactivated Vaccine Induced Robust Antibody Responses and Cross-Neutralization of SARS-CoV-2 Variants, but Less Immunity against Omicron
Nungruthai Suntronwong,Ritthideach Yorsaeng,Jiratchaya Puenpa,Chompoonut Auphimai,Thanunrat Thongmee,Preeyaporn Vichaiwattana,Sitthichai Kanokudom,Thaneeya Duangchinda,Warangkana Chantima,Pattarakul Pakchotanon,Suvichada Assawakosri,Pornjarim Nilyanimit,Sirapa Klinfueng,Lakkhana Wongsrisang,Donchida Srimuan,T. Thatsanatorn,Natthinee Sudhinaraset,Nasamon Wanlapakorn,Yong Poovorawan +18 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that breakthrough infection after two doses of an inactivated vaccine can induce neutralizing antibody against omicron, and further investigation is needed to assess the long term persistence of antibody against Omicron variant.
