Journal ArticleDOI

In vitro anti-herpes simplex virus activity of 1,2,4,6-tetra-O-galloyl-β-D-glucose from Phyllanthus emblica L. (Euphorbiaceae).

TL;DR: It was suggested that 1,2,4,6‐tetra‐O‐galloyl‐β‐d‐glucose (1246TGG) might exert anti‐HSV activity both by inactivating extracellular viral particles and by inhibiting viral biosynthesis in host cells.
Journal ArticleDOI

Anti-inflammatory compounds of “Qin-Jiao”, the roots of Gentiana dahurica (Gentianaceae)

TL;DR: The results support the historical importance of the well-known TCM herb, "Qin-Jiao", having been commonly used for fighting RA, and the bioactive iridoid glycosides should play important role in the anti-inflammatory effect of "Zebrafish".
Journal ArticleDOI

Dammarane triterpenoids from the roots of Gentiana rigescens.

TL;DR: Six new minor dammarane triterpenoids were isolated from the roots of Gentiana rigescens and it was shown that the glycosides gentirigeosides A, C, and E had antifungal activity against the plant pathogen Glomerella cingulata.
Journal ArticleDOI

Phenolic Compounds from the Whole Plants of Gentiana rhodantha (Gentianaceae)

TL;DR: Chemical investigation on the whole plants led to the identification of eight new phenolic compounds, rhodanthenones A–D (1–4, resp.), and methyl 2‐O‐β‐D‐glucopyranosyl‐2,4,6‐trihydroxybenzoate (8), together with eleven known compounds, 9–19.
Journal ArticleDOI

Notoginsenoside ST-4 inhibits virus penetration of herpes simplex virus in vitro.

TL;DR: Notoginsenoside ST-4 was investigated for its antiviral activity on herpes simplex type 1 (HSV-1) and type 2 ( HSV-2) in vitro and it was confirmed by fluorescence microscopy observation that notoginseno-ST-4 blocked the penetration of virus.
