Journal ArticleDOI
Combining anchor and distribution-based methods to derive minimal clinically important differences on the Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy (FACT) anemia and fatigue scales.
TL;DR: Anchor-based and distribution-based methods were used to provide ranges of CIDs for five targeted scale scores of the Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy-Anemia questionnaire, providing a basis for sample size estimation when planning for a clinical trial or other longitudinal study.
Journal ArticleDOI

Journal ArticleDOI
Prognostic significance of occult lymph node metastases in node-negative breast cancer.
Susan E. Clare,Stephen F. Sener,William Wilkens,Robert A. Goldschmidt,Douglas E. Merkel,David J. Winchester +5 more
TL;DR: The presence of occult metastases shortened the disease-free interval and suggested that more diligent axillary staging would more accurately identify patients who would benefit from systemic adjuvant treatment.
Journal Article
Prognostic implications of ploidy and proliferative activity in diffuse large cell lymphomas.
Kenneth D. Bauer,Douglas E. Merkel,Jane N. Winter,Robert J. Marder,Walter W. Hauck,Carl B. Wallemark,Thomas J. Williams,Daina Variakojis +7 more
TL;DR: Differences in proliferative activity may be an important biological basis for the variable prognosis seen in DLCL, according to the clinical characteristics of patients and the course of their disease.
