Journal ArticleDOI

A review on the application of different treatment processes for emulsified oily wastewater

TL;DR: In this article, an analytical insight on the merits of the process for the treatment of such emulsified system has been provided, and different microorganisms that are required for bioremediation of either oil spill over a large aquatic zone or oil-water emulsion at source point.
Journal ArticleDOI

A Comparative Study on the Production of Galacto-oligosaccharide from Whey Permeate in Recycle Membrane Reactor and in Enzymatic Batch Reactor

TL;DR: In recycle membrane reactor, GOS production was found to be 33% higher than that in the batch reactor, and monosaccharide concentration was 78% lower with 23% remaining enzyme activity after 18,000 s of reaction time.
Journal ArticleDOI

A review on the production of fermentable sugars from lignocellulosic biomass through conventional and enzymatic route—a comparison

TL;DR: Based on the biomass nature, the evaluated hot water pretreatment followed by enzymatic hydrolysis with a provision of enzyme reusability seems to be promising for enhanced biofuel-production.
Journal ArticleDOI

Feasibility study of enzyme immobilization on polymeric membrane: A case study with enzymatically galacto-oligosaccharides production from lactose

TL;DR: In this article, an exhaustive investigation on the effect of β-galactosidase (EC 3.2.23) immobilization on polymeric polyether sulfone, cellulose triacetate and thin film composite polyamide membrane to produce galacto-oligosaccharides from lactose is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI

Galactosyl oligosaccharide purification by ethanol precipitation

TL;DR: In this paper, the addition of ethanol to aqueous saccharide solutions was used to selectively precipitate and enrich Galactosyl oligosaccharides (GOS) from a reaction mixture.
