Atmospheric heavy metal deposition in Northern Europe 1990

TL;DR: Atmospheric heavy metal deposition in northern Europe including Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Sweden and adjacent areas of Russia, was monitored by moss technique as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI

The use of moss, lichen and pine bark in the nationwide monitoring of atmospheric heavy metal deposition in finland

TL;DR: Mosses, lichens and pine bark were compared as indicators of atmospheric heavy metal deposition in Finland as mentioned in this paper, where the major emission sources and the areas affected were reflected in the metal concentrations in the samples.
Journal ArticleDOI

Atmospheric heavy metal deposition in Finland from 1985 to 1990

TL;DR: In this article, the authors examined the change in the heavy metal deposition with time and to produce information about the deposition and the emission sources using the moss technique, and found that significant decrease in the concentrations of some elements was found from 1985 to 1990.
Book ChapterDOI

Heavy metal loading

TL;DR: The carpet-forming moss species, Hylocomium splendens and Pleurozium schreberi, are especially suitable for surveying heavy metal deposition because they obtain most of their nutrients directly from rainwater and particles deposited on their surfaces as mentioned in this paper.
