Journal ArticleDOI

An Expert Diagnostic System to Automatically Identify Asthma and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease in Clinical Settings.

TL;DR: The results demonstrate that the expert diagnostic system can correctly identify patients with asthma and COPD with sensitivity of 96.45% and specificity of 98.71%, which contributed to a 49.23% decrease in demand for conducting additional tests, therefore decreasing financial cost.
Journal ArticleDOI

ANAC017 Coordinates Organellar Functions and Stress Responses by Reprogramming Retrograde Signaling

TL;DR: RNA sequencing analyses revealed that increased ANAC017 expression leads to higher expression of genes related to mitochondrial stress, cell death/autophagy, and leaf senescence under nonlimiting growth conditions as well as extensive repression of chloroplast function.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Two planar antennas for detection of partial discharge in gas-insulated switchgear (GIS)

TL;DR: In this paper, a planar complex spiral antenna and a fractal tree log-periodic dipole antenna are used to detect partial discharge in GIS infrastructure, where the RF energy of partial discharge progressively degrades the insulating medium and as a result electrical breakdown can occur.
Journal ArticleDOI

Accurate Phase Calibration for Digital Beam-Forming in Multi-Transceiver HF Radar System

TL;DR: In this article, an accurate phase measurement method was proposed to calibrate the phases of the radio output signals using Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) technology. But the phase offset between the RF signal generated by each transceiver and a reference signal operated at the same frequency was not considered.
Journal ArticleDOI

Engineering management: old story, new demands

TL;DR: In this article, the authors raise the case for including learning experiences in the basic skills in the discipline of engineering management and discuss the need for effective and collaborative mentoring between engineering managers, educators, researchers, and other practitioners to encourage growth and development of young professionals.
