Journal ArticleDOI
Antibody-Mediated Rejection With and Without HLA Donor-Specific Antibodies in Kidney-Transplantation
Marta Crespo,Dolores Redondo,Carrie Butler,Javier Gimeno,Carme Garcia,Maria Jose Perez,Carla Burballa,Marisa Mir,Anna Faura,Nicole Valenzuela,Elaine F. Reed,Pascual Julio +11 more
TL;DR: Patients with AMR with or without DSA showed similar microvascular inflammation and chronic changes, except that more DSA+AMR patients were sensitized pretransplant and less well DR-matched, with no differences in graft function or immunosuppression.
Journal ArticleDOI
Long term tolerability and clinical outcomes associated with tocilizumab in the treatment of refractory antibody mediated rejection (AMR) in pediatric renal transplant recipients
Meghan H. Pearl,Patricia L. Weng,Lucia Chen,Aditi Dokras,Helen Pizzo,Jonathan Garrison,Carrie Butler,Jennifer Q. Zhang,Elaine F. Reed,Irene Kim,Jua Choi,Mark Haas,Xiaohua Zhang,Ashley Vo,Eileen Tsai Chambers,Robert B. Ettenger,Stanley C. Jordan,Dechu Puliyanda +17 more
TL;DR: This work has shown that inhibition of interleukin‐6 (IL‐6)/interleukIn‐6 receptor ( IL‐6R) signaling can reduce inflammation and slow AMR progression.
Journal ArticleDOI
462: Does MFI Quantitation of Circulating Antibodies Correlate with Positive Cytotoxicity?
Michelle M. Kittleson,Jaideep Patel,Elaine F. Reed,Qiuheng Zhang,Michael Cecka,E. Stimpson,A. Velleca,C. Burch,M.A. Kawano,S. Davis,Jaime Moriguchi,Abbas Ardehali,Jon A. Kobashigawa +12 more
Journal ArticleDOI
Association of pro-inflammatory cytokines and monocyte subtypes in older and younger patients on clinical outcomes after mechanical circulatory support device implantation.
Joanna Schaenman,Maura Rossetti,Tiffany Sidwell,V. Groysberg,Gemalene Sunga,Emily Liang,Sitaram Vangala,E. Chang,M. Bakir,Galyna Bondar,Martin Cadeiras,Murray Kwon,Elaine F. Reed,Mario C. Deng +13 more
TL;DR: Noninvasive immunologic analysis of peripheral blood holds promise for explaining the mechanism of development of adverse clinical outcomes, and may also become a method for patient risk stratification before or after mechanical circulatory support device (MCSD) implantation.
