Depolarization of a muon by hyperfine interaction

Elihu Lubkin
- 15 Jul 1960 -
TL;DR: The further depolarization of a muon captured in the is Bohr orbit by hyperfine interaction with a nucleus of spin j is calculated in this paper, where the main result is that the asymmetry pararaeters of the decay electrons from the J = j plus or minus 1/2 states are multiplied by respective asymmetry reduction factors 1/ 3STA1 plus orminus 2/(2j + 1).
Journal ArticleDOI

Theory of nucleon-nucleon scattering in the strip approximation to the mandelstam representation

TL;DR: In this article, the nucleon-nucleon scattering amplitude is discussed within the framework of the strip approximation, and asymptotic bounds to the behavior of the amplitudes are derived, and are applied to limit the number of “allowed” single spectral functions to six and correspondingly limit the types of dynamically independent one-particle states.
Journal ArticleDOI

Converse Red-Shift Argument

TL;DR: In this article, it is shown that if there is a sufficiently uniform red shift operating on light signals traveling in either direction between $A$ and $B$ then the round-trip distance increases with the time measured by $A$.
