Injury induced c‐Jun expression and phosphorylation in the dopaminergic nigral neurons of the rat: correlation with neuronal death and modulation by glial‐cell‐line‐derived neurotrophic factor
TL;DR: It is concluded that c‐Jun induction and phosphorylation may be involved in the cellular events leading to death of nigral dopaminergic neurons in vivo and that this response can be modulated by glial‐cell‐line‐derived‐neurotrophic factor.
Journal ArticleDOI
A synthetic NCAM‐derived peptide, FGL, protects hippocampal neurons from ischemic insult both in vitro and in vivo
Galina Skibo,Iryna Lushnikova,Kyrill Y. Voronin,Oksana Dmitrieva,Tatiana Novikova,Boris Klementiev,Elisabetta Vaudano,Vladimir Berezin,Elisabeth Bock +8 more
TL;DR: It is shown that FGL, a neural cell adhesion molecule (NCAM)‐derived peptide binding to and inducing phosphorylation of the fibroblast growth factor receptor (FGFR), acts neuroprotectively after an ischemic insult both in vitro and in vivo.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effects of P2, a peptide derived from a homophilic binding site in the neural cell adhesion molecule on learning and memory in rats.
Larissa Rizhova,Boris Klementiev,Karine Cambon,César Venero,Carmen Sandi,Elena A. Vershinina,Elisabetta Vaudano,Vladimir Berezin,Elisabeth Bock +8 more
TL;DR: Data indicate that in vivo P2 enhances short-term memory and protects against the amnestic effects of scopolamine, while modulating emotional behavior in a learning or novelty-related task.
