Journal ArticleDOI
Impact of the glyphosate-based commercial herbicide, its components and its metabolite AMPA on non-target aquatic organisms.
Laís de Brito Rodrigues,Gessyca Gonçalves Costa,Emanoela Lundgren Thá,Lucas Rafael da Silva,Rhaul Oliveira,Daniela Morais Leme,Marta Margarete Cestari,Cesar Koppe Grisolia,Marize Campos Valadares,Gisele Augusto Rodrigues de Oliveira,Gisele Augusto Rodrigues de Oliveira +10 more
TL;DR: The data indicate that the lethal effects on zebrafish early-life stages can be ranked in the following order from most to least toxic: surfactant POEA, ATN, AMPA, as well as the main metabolite of GLY aminomethylphosphonic acid (AMPA) on non-target aquatic organisms.
Journal ArticleDOI
Single and mixture toxicity evaluation of three phenolic compounds to the terrestrial ecosystem.
Ketelen Michele Guilherme de Oliveira,Endrew Henrique de Sousa Carvalho,Ronaldo dos Santos Filho,Tainá Wilke Sivek,Emanoela Lundgren Thá,Irisdoris Rodrigues de Souza,Lauren Dalat de Sousa Coelho,Maria Eunice Bertelli Pimenta,Gisele Augusto Rodrigues de Oliveira,Danielle Palma de Oliveira,Marta Margarete Cestari,Daniela Morais Leme +11 more
TL;DR: In this article, the toxicity and cyto/geno-toxicity of three environmental phenols known as EDCs (Bisphenol A, OP, Nonylphenol) were evaluated in environmentally relevant concentrations (μg/L) and in single forms and mixture.
Journal ArticleDOI
Safety aspects of kraft lignin fractions: Discussions on the in chemico antioxidant activity and the induction of oxidative stress on a cell-based in vitro model.
Emanoela Lundgren Thá,Mailson Matos,Francisco Avelino,Diego Lomonaco,Isisdoris Rodrigues-Souza,Viviana Stephanie Costa Gagosian,Marta Margarete Cestari,Washington Luiz Esteves Magalhães,Washington Luiz Esteves Magalhães,Daniela Morais Leme +9 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors evaluated the antioxidant and genotoxic potential of two hardwood kraft lignins (F3 and F5) and found that despite being antioxidants in the DPPH assay, they were capable of generating intracellular reactive oxygen species (ROS) and subsequently causing oxidative DNA damage (Comet assay) in HepG2 cells.
Journal ArticleDOI
Beyond dermal exposure: The respiratory tract as a target organ in hazard assessments of cosmetic ingredients.
Emanoela Lundgren Thá,Andrezza Di Pietro Micali Canavez,Desiree Cigaran Schuck,Viviana Stephanie Costa Gagosian,Márcio Lorencini,Daniela Morais Leme +5 more
TL;DR: In this article, the differences in the mechanisms of irritation and sensitisation between the skin and the respiratory tract, the progress that has already been made, and what still needs to be done to fill the gap in the inhalation risk assessment of cosmetic ingredients.
