Information Granules Filtering for Inexact Sequential Pattern Mining by Evolutionary Computation
TL;DR: This paper presents a method to overcome the drawback of inexact mining by applying an optimization-based filter that identifies the most descriptive patterns among those found by the clustering process, able to return clusters more compact and easily interpretable.

Hyperedge Entanglement in High-Order Multilayer Networks
Alessandro Muscoloni,Ilyes Abdelhamid,Julius L. Decano,Edwin Souza,Enrico Maiorino,Masanori Aikawa,Edwin K. Silverman,Amitabh Sharma,Carlo Vittorio Cannistraci +8 more
TL;DR: HEP predictions are validated by biological experiments, enlarging the understanding of molecular mechanisms behind COPD/aneurysm comorbidity and performing HEP on the human protein interactome to predict unknown gene entanglements with the COPD disease gene hyperedge.
Journal ArticleDOI
On the long-term correlations and multifractal properties of electric arc furnace time series
TL;DR: The presence of positive correlations is in agreement with the typical V–I characteristic (hysteresis) of the electric arc furnace, thus providing a sound physical justification for the memory effects found in the current time series.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
Genetic algorithms to learn an unknown linear transformation
Nicolò Spagnolo,Enrico Maiorino,Chiara Vitelli,Marco Bentivegna,Andrea Crespi,Roberta Ramponi,Paolo Mataloni,Roberto Osellame,Fabio Sciarrino +8 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a toolbox of integrated photonics enabled the capability to implement complex interferometers with a large number of modes, which can be found in different quantum information tasks, including quantum walks and simulation.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
