Apoptosis Induced by the Kinase Inhibitor BAY 43-9006 in Human Leukemia Cells Involves Down-regulation of Mcl-1 through Inhibition of Translation
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that BAY 43-9006 mediates cell death in human leukemia cells, at least in part, through down-regulation of Mcl-1 via inhibition of translation.
Journal ArticleDOI
The kinase inhibitor sorafenib induces cell death through a process involving induction of endoplasmic reticulum stress.
Mohamed Rahmani,Eric Maynard Davis,Timothy Ryan Crabtree,Joseph Habibi,Tri K. Nguyen,Paul Dent,Steven Grant +6 more
TL;DR: It is reported that inducible expression of constitutively active MEK1 fails to protect cells from sorafenib-mediated lethality, indicating that sorafanib-induced cell death is unrelated to MEK 1/2-ERK1/2 pathway inactivation.

The kinase inhibitor sorafenib induces cell death through a process involving induction of ER stress
Mohamed Rahmani,Eric Maynard Davis,Timothy Ryan Crabtree,Joseph Habibi,Tri K. Nguyen,Paul Dent,Steven Grant +6 more
TL;DR: It is shown that inducible expression of constitutively active MEK1 fails to protect U937 human leukemia cells from sorafenib-mediated lethality, indicating that sorafanib-induced cell death is unrelated to MEK 1/2/ERK1/2 pathway inactivation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Analysis of Disparities in Time to Allogeneic Transplantation in Adults with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia.
Warren Fingrut,Boglarka Gyurkocza,Jessica Flynn,Eric Maynard Davis,Sean M. Devlin,Andromachi Scaradavou,Stephanie Chinapen,Sean Quach,Christina Cho,Sergio Giralt,Ann A. Jakubowski,Richard J. Lin,Esperanza B. Papadopoulos,Miguel-Angel Perales,Doris M. Ponce,Brian C. Shaffer,Roni Tamari,James B. Young,Ioannis Politikos,Juliet N. Barker +19 more
TL;DR: While non-European AML patients are less likely to receive 8/8 URDs as expected, if they do their transplants are delayed, HLA-identical siblings and cord blood facilitate the fastest transplants regardless of patient ancestry whereas other adult donor transplants is delayed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Analysis of Disparities in Speed to BMT Referral & Allograft in 279 Adults with AML: Non-Europeans Have Delayed Referrals & Cord Blood Can Facilitate Prompt Transplantation Regardless of Ancestry
