Journal ArticleDOI
Mutations in amphiphysin 2 ( BIN1 ) disrupt interaction with dynamin 2 and cause autosomal recessive centronuclear myopathy
Anne-Sophie Nicot,Anne Toussaint,Valérie Tosch,Christine Kretz,Carina Wallgren-Pettersson,Erik Iwarsson,Helen Kingston,Jean-Marie Garnier,Valérie Biancalana,Anders Oldfors,Jean-Louis Mandel,Jocelyn Laporte +11 more
TL;DR: The results suggest that mutations in BIN1 cause centronuclear myopathy by interfering with remodeling of T tubules and/or endocytic membranes, and that the functional interaction between Bin1 and DNM2 is necessary for normal muscle function and positioning of nuclei.
Journal ArticleDOI
On the origin of trisomy 21 Down syndrome
Maj Hultén,Suketu D Patel,Maira K. Tankimanova,Maira K. Tankimanova,Magnus Westgren,Nikos Papadogiannakis,Anna Maria Jonsson,Erik Iwarsson +7 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that most normal female foetuses are trisomy 21 ovarian mosaics and the maternal age effect is caused by differential selection of these cells during foetal and postnatal development until ovulation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Analysis of cell-free fetal DNA in maternal blood for detection of trisomy 21, 18 and 13 in a general pregnant population and in a high risk population - a systematic review and meta-analysis.
Erik Iwarsson,Bo Jacobsson,Jessica Dagerhamn,Thomas Davidson,Eduardo Bernabé,Marianne Heibert Arnlind +5 more
TL;DR: The aim of this study was to review the performance of non‐invasive prenatal testing for detection of trisomy 21, 18 and 13 in a general pregnant population as well as to update the data on high‐risk pregnancies.
Journal ArticleDOI
A high degree of aneuploidy in frozen-thawed human preimplantation embryos
Erik Iwarsson,Monalill Lundqvist,José Inzunza,Lars Ährlund-Richter,Peter Sjöblom,Örjan Lundkvist,Niklas Simberg,Magnus Nordenskjöld,Elisabeth Blennow +8 more
TL;DR: The data show a slightly higher incidence of abnormal embryos compared to those obtained with FISH in non-cryopreserved embryos and confirm that the majority of preimplantation embryos fertilised in vitro contain abnormal blastomeres.
Journal ArticleDOI
Fetal membrane cells for treatment of steroid-refractory acute graft-versus-host disease.
Olle Ringdén,Tom Erkers,Silvia Nava,Mehmet Uzunel,Erik Iwarsson,Réka Conrad,Magnus Westgren,Jonas Mattsson,Helen Kaipe +8 more
TL;DR: Fetal membrane cells isolated from term placenta may be successfully used for immune modulation and tissue repair in treatment of steroid‐refractory acute GVHD.
