Journal ArticleDOI
Active primary mirror support for the 2.1-m telescope at the San Pedro Mártir Observatory.
Luis Salas,Leonel Gutierrez,Maria H. Pedrayes,Jorge Valdez,C. Carrasco,M. Carrillo,B. Orozco,Benjamín García,Esteban Luna,Elfego Ruiz,Salvador Cuevas,A. Iriarte,A. Cordero,O. Harris,F. Quiroz,Erika Sohn,L. A. Martínez +16 more
TL;DR: A new set of actuators for the suspension of the primary mirror of the 2.1-m telescope at San Pedro Mártir have allowed them to correct low-order aberrations identified by several wave-front analysis techniques.
Journal ArticleDOI
Deterministic convergence in iterative phase shifting
TL;DR: A new approach is presented to this method that allows us to deterministically identify convergence and is tested with a home-built Fizeau interferometer that measures optical surfaces polished to lambda/100 using the Hydra tool.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
Surface roughness results using a hydrodynamic polishing tool (HyDra)
Manuel Nuñez,Javier Salinas,Esteban Luna,Luis Salas,Elfego Ruiz,Erika Sohn,Adriana Nava,Irene Cruz,Benjamin Martinez +8 more
TL;DR: HyDRa as mentioned in this paper is a hydrodynamic radial polishing tool ideal for the corrective lapping and fine polishing of diverse materials by means of an accelerated abrasive flux.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
Polishing TIM mirror segments with HyDra
Alberto Cordero-Dávila,Esteban Luna-Aguilar,Manuel Nuñez,Jorge González,Victor Cabrera,Jorge Valdez,Benjamin Martinez,Bethy Elizabeth Vargas García,Victor Garcia-Garduno,Luis Salas,Irene Cruz-Gonzales,Elfego Ruiz Schneider,Erika Sohn,M. A. Rodriguez-Pineda +13 more
TL;DR: In this article, a hydrodynamic radial tool (HyDra) is used to expels a suspension of water and polishing particles radially on glass. But the tool is not suitable for fabrication of optical flat and Schmidt surfaces.
Journal Article
Site prospection at san pedro mártir
Joaquín Bohigas,Juan Manuel Nuñez,P.F Guillén,Francisco Lazo,David Hiriart,T. Calvario,O. Escoboza,A. Córdova,J. Valdez,Erika Sohn +9 more
TL;DR: In this paper, seeing and weather observations were conducted at 5 sites within the boundaries of the area reserved for astronomy at the Sierra de San Pedro Martir National Park (SPM), for at least 15 nights at each one of these.
