Journal ArticleDOI
Interferometric measurement of angles.
Daniel Malacara,O. Harris +1 more
TL;DR: A new interferometric device for measuring small angles or rotations with high accuracy is described, which works by counting fringes formed by the rotation of a flat-parallel plate of glass illuminated with a collimated beam from a gas laser.
Journal ArticleDOI
Active primary mirror support for the 2.1-m telescope at the San Pedro Mártir Observatory.
Luis Salas,Leonel Gutierrez,Maria H. Pedrayes,Jorge Valdez,C. Carrasco,M. Carrillo,B. Orozco,Benjamín García,Esteban Luna,Elfego Ruiz,Salvador Cuevas,A. Iriarte,A. Cordero,O. Harris,F. Quiroz,Erika Sohn,L. A. Martínez +16 more
TL;DR: A new set of actuators for the suspension of the primary mirror of the 2.1-m telescope at San Pedro Mártir have allowed them to correct low-order aberrations identified by several wave-front analysis techniques.
Journal ArticleDOI
Wavefront outer scale and seeing measurements at San Pedro Mártir Observatory
Rodolphe Conan,R. Avila,Leonardo J. Sanchez,Aziz Ziad,F. Martin,Julien Borgnino,O. Harris,S. I. González,R. Michel,David Hiriart +9 more
TL;DR: The first measurements of the spatial coherence outer scale at the Observatorio Astronomico Nacional at San Pedro Martir (OAN-SPM) are reported along with long term seeing measurements as mentioned in this paper.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
San Pedro Mártir: astronomical site evaluation
Irene Cruz-Gonzales,Remy Avila,M. T. Tapia,Fernando Ángeles,Esperanza Carrasco,R. Conan,Rafael Costero,D. X. Cruz,Salvador Cuevas,J M Echevarría,F. Garfias,Sonia González,Leonel Gutierrez,O. Harris,David Hiriart,Federico Martin Ibanez,L. A. Martínez,Elena Masciadri,Raul M. Michel,Valeri G. Orlov,L. Parrao,Beatriz Sánchez,Leonardo J. Sanchez,Marc Sarazin,William J. Schuster,Valeri V. Voitsekhovich,A. Agabi,M. Azouit,Julien Borgnino,François Martin,Jean Vernin,Aziz Ziad +31 more
TL;DR: A summary of the most important results obtained so far can be found in this paper, where weather, cloud coverage, local meteorology, atmospheric optical extinction, millimetric opacity, geotechnical studies, seeing, optical turbulence profiles, wind profiles and 3D simulations of atmospheric turbulence.
