All in one porous material: Exceptional sorption and selective sensing of hexavalent chromium by using a Zr4+ MOF
Sofia Rapti,Debajit Sarma,Debajit Sarma,Stavros A. Diamantis,Euaggelia Skliri,Gerasimos S. Armatas,Athanassios C. Tsipis,Youssef S. Hassan,Mohamed H. Alkordi,Christos D. Malliakas,Mercouri G. Kanatzidis,Theodore Lazarides,John C. Plakatouras,Manolis J. Manos +13 more
TL;DR: In this article, a new microporous metal-organic framework (MOF) with an 8-connected net and a bulky functional group was introduced into the terephthalate scaffold prior to the MOF synthesis, referred as MOR-2 (metal organic resin-2).
Journal ArticleDOI
Exceptional TcO4 − sorption capacity and highly efficient ReO4 − luminescence sensing by Zr4+ MOFs
Sofia Rapti,Stavros A. Diamantis,Argyro Dafnomili,Anastasia Pournara,Euaggelia Skliri,Gerasimos S. Armatas,Athanassios C. Tsipis,Ioannis Spanopoulos,Christos D. Malliakas,Mercouri G. Kanatzidis,John C. Plakatouras,Fotini Noli,Theodore Lazarides,Manolis J. Manos +13 more
TL;DR: In this article, the sorption properties of [Zr6O4(OH)4(NH3+-BDC)6]Cl6·xH2O (MOR-1) and [H16[Zr 6O16(H2PATP)4]Cl8·x H2O(mOR-2) towards ReO4 and TcO4− were studied in detail.
Journal ArticleDOI
Assembly and photochemical properties of mesoporous networks of spinel ferrite nanoparticles for environmental photocatalytic remediation
Euaggelia Skliri,Jianwei Miao,Jian Xie,Guangfeng Liu,Teddy Salim,Bin Liu,Qichun Zhang,Gerasimos S. Armatas +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, high-surface-area mesoscopic architectures composed of tightly connected ultrasmall spinel ferrite nanocrystals can efficiently suppress electron-hole recombination, manifesting an exceptional activity and magnetic recyclability in photocatalytic reduction of aqueous Cr(VI).
Journal ArticleDOI
A microporous Mg2+ MOF with cation exchange properties in a single-crystal-to-single-crystal fashion
Eleutheria Papazoi,Antigoni Douvali,Sofia Rapti,Euaggelia Skliri,Gerasimos S. Armatas,Giannis S. Papaefstathiou,Xin Wang,Zhen-Feng Huang,S. Kaziannis,Constantine Kosmidis,Antonios G. Hatzidimitriou,Theodore Lazarides,Manolis J. Manos +12 more
TL;DR: In this article, a new alkaline earth metal ion organic framework [Mg2(NH2BDC)2(HNO3)]·9H2O (AEMOF-7), which shows a 3-D microporous structure with several unusual features, such as the rare trigonal prismatic coordination geometry of one of the crystallographically unique Mg2+ centers and the existence of a bridging HNO3 ligand.
Journal ArticleDOI
Heteropolytungstic acids incorporated in an ordered mesoporous zirconia framework as efficient oxidation catalysts
TL;DR: In this paper, the mesoporous composite catalysts consisting of nanocrystalline tetragonal ZrO2 and heteropolytungstic clusters, i.e., 12-phosphotungstic (PTA) and 12-silicotungstic (STA) acids, were prepared via a surfactant-assisted co-polymerization route.
