Journal ArticleDOI
High resolution R- and G-banding on the same preparation.
TL;DR: A simple method using bromodeoxyuridine (BrdU), for both cell synchronization and incorporation into replicating DNA is described, and due to the probable blocking at different times of the cell cycle, very good R-banding and G-bands were obtained simultaneously on the same preparation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Abnormal methylation pattern in constitutive and facultative (X inactive chromosome) heterochromatin of ICF patients
Pierre Miniou,Marc Jeanpierre,Véronique Blanquet,Valé rie Sibella,Dominique Bonneau,Catherine Herbelin,Alain Fischer,Alain Niveleau,Evani Viegas-Péquignot +8 more
TL;DR: The chromosome methylation pattern confirms this hypomethylation showing in addition a clear undermethylation of facultative heterochromatin (X inactive chromosome), associated with an abnormal chromatin organization, may predispose to chromosome instability.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mapping of single-copy DNA sequences on human chromosomes by in situ hybridization with biotinylated probes: enhancement of detection sensitivity by intensified-fluorescence digital-imaging microscopy
TL;DR: Two single-copy DNA segments were labeled with biotin-labeled dUTP (Bio11-dUTP) and hybridized to human chromosomes and directly mapped on chromosomes by using classical fluorescence microscopy and a microchannel-plate-intensified video camera to detect very weak fluorescent spots on chromosomes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Dnmt3b recruitment through E2F6 transcriptional repressor mediates germ-line gene silencing in murine somatic tissues
Guillaume Velasco,Florent Hubé,Jérôme Rollin,Damien Neuillet,Cathy Philippe,Haniaa Bouzinba-Segard,Angélique Galvani,Evani Viegas-Péquignot,Claire Francastel +8 more
TL;DR: A coordinated regulation of genes involved in meiosis is unraveled, through E2F6-dependant methylation and transcriptional silencing in somatic tissues.
Journal ArticleDOI
Assignment of human desmin gene to band 2q35 by nonradioactive in situ hybridization
TL;DR: A 3-kb DNA fragment, inserted in Bluescribe vector, was used to localize the desmin gene by in situ hybridization on human metaphase chromosomes.
