Journal ArticleDOI
A randomized clinical trial of high-intensity warfarin vs. conventional antithrombotic therapy for the prevention of recurrent thrombosis in patients with the antiphospholipid syndrome (WAPS).
Guido Finazzi,Roberto Marchioli,Vincenzo Brancaccio,Piercarla Schinco,Finn Wisløff,Jacek Musiał,F. Baudo,M. Berrettini,Sophie Testa,Armando D'Angelo,G. Tognoni,T Barbui +11 more
TL;DR: High‐intensity warfarin was not superior to standard treatment in preventing recurrent thrombosis in patients with APS and was associated with an increased rate of minor hemorrhagic complications.
Journal ArticleDOI
Antithrombin III (ATIII)) replacement therapy in patients with sepsis and/or postsurgical complications: A controlled double-blind, randomized, multicenter study
F. Baudo,T M Caimi,F. deCataldo,A. Ravizza,S. Arlati,G. Casella,D. Carugo,G. Palareti,Cristina Legnani,L. Ridolfi,R. Rossi,Armando D'Angelo,L. Crippa,D. Giudici,G. Gallioli,A. Wolfler,Giliola Calori +16 more
TL;DR: The results of ATIII treatment in this population of patients suggests that replacement therapy reduces mortality in the subgroup of septic shock patients only.
Journal ArticleDOI
Novel surgical approach to pseudotumour of ilium in haemophilia.
Journal ArticleDOI
Acquired factor VIII inhibitors in pregnancy: data from the Italian Haemophilia Register relevant to clinical practice.
F. Baudo,de Cataldo F +1 more
TL;DR: In a review of 20 pregnancies with FVIII inhibitor, over a 15 year period, bleeding was controlled in all cases with no fatalities, suggesting correct evaluation of coagulation screening tests, in particular, activated partial thromboplastin time, is essential.
Journal Article
Thrombosis and thrombocytopenia in antiphospholipid syndrome (idiopathic and secondary to SLE): First report from the Italian Registry
Tiziano Barbui,Guido Finazzi,Monica Galli,N. Ciavarella,Mario Schiavoni,G. Palareti,Francesco Marongiu,G. Muleo,L. Ferrari,Sophie Testa,G. Ballerini,P. Rossi Ferrini,Eugenio Damasio,A. Trotta,F. Baudo,Enrico Pogliani,Elena Rossi,Armando D'Angelo +17 more
TL;DR: This retrospective study shows that the prevalence of thrombosis andThrombocytopenia in Patients with idiopathic APA is similar to that observed in patients with APA secondary to SLE.
