A review on thermophysical evaluation of alkali-activated geopolymers

TL;DR: In this article, the authors reviewed and addressed the key thermal expansion properties of amorphous, silica-based, alkali-activated geopolymers and their potential applications, and found that the dilatometer curve is influenced by many factors such as aluminosilicate source, silicas to alumina ratio, geopolymer mixing ratio, chemical composition and type of geopolym, such as composite, coating or hybrid.
Journal ArticleDOI

A prototype knowledge-based system for material selection of ceramic matrix composites of automotive engine components

TL;DR: In this paper, a prototype knowledge based system for material selection of CMC for engine components such as piston, connecting rod and piston ring is proposed, which consists of several modules such as knowledge acquisition module, inference module and user interface module.
Journal ArticleDOI

Review on methods for preservation and natural preservatives for extending the food longevity

TL;DR: In this article, the authors focus on preservation methods and the natural preservatives that are suitable to be used for food preservation and compare them with the use of synthetic preservatives such as sulphites, benzoates, sorbates etc.
Journal ArticleDOI

Free vibration analysis of solar functionally graded plates with temperature-dependent material properties using second order shear deformation theory

TL;DR: In this article, second-order shear deformation theory is employed to analyze vibration of temperature-dependent solar functionally graded plates (SFGP) and the energy method is applied to derive equilibrium equations, and solution is based on Fourier series that satisfy the boundary conditions.
Journal ArticleDOI

On the correlation between microstructural evolution and ultrasonic properties: a review

TL;DR: In this article, the correlation of ultrasonic parameters with microstructural features of ferrous and nonferrous metals such as steels, aluminum, and superalloys is investigated.
