Engineering the quantum anomalous Hall effect in graphene with uniaxial strains

TL;DR: In this article, the authors theoretically investigate the manipulation of the quantum anomalous Hall effect (QAHE) in graphene by means of the uniaxial strain and find that the interplay between Rashba and intrinsic spin-orbit couplings results in a topological phase transition in the strained graphene.
Journal ArticleDOI

Optical Properties of PbSe and PbS Quantum Dots Embedded in Oxide Glass

TL;DR: In this article, the optical properties of PbSe and PbS quantum dots were studied both theoretically and experimentally, and it was found that the optical absorption is strongly dependent upon thermal treatment processes, for instance annealing temperature and time.
Journal ArticleDOI

Design of a noble-metal-free direct Z-scheme photocatalyst for overall water splitting based on a SnC/SnSSe van der Waals heterostructure.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed a direct Z-scheme photocatalyst based on a Janus van der Waals heterostructure (vdWH) comprising SnC and Janus SeSnS monolayers.
Journal ArticleDOI

Magnetic and optical characterization of Mn-doped PbS nanocrystals supported in oxide glass matrix

TL;DR: In this article, the evidence of successful growth of Mn-doped PbS (Pb 1−x Mn x S) nanocrystals (NCs) in SiO 2 -Na 2 Co 3 -Al 2 O 3 template, using the fusion method, is reported on in this study.
