Journal ArticleDOI

Surface fluorination on TiO2 catalyst induced by photodegradation of perfluorooctanoic acid

TL;DR: In this article, the photoabatement of perfluorooctanoic acid in aqueous solution has been performed with a commercial nano-sized TiO2-based photocatalyst content of 0.66 g/L under an UV irradiation of 95 W/m2.
Journal ArticleDOI

The effect of oxygen in the photocatalytic oxidation pathways of perfluorooctanoic acid

TL;DR: In this paper, the influence of oxygen in photocatalytic oxidation of perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) promoted by a commercial nano-sized titanium dioxide was studied by testing the reaction in different conditions: static air, oxygen flux, nitrogen flux and pre-saturated nitrogen flux.
Journal ArticleDOI

UV-resistant amorphous fluorinated coating for anodized titanium surfaces

TL;DR: In this article, a high molecular weight copolymer of tetrafluoroethylene and perfluoro-4-trifluoromethoxy-1,3-dioxole (HYFLON® AD60) and two perfluoropolyethers (PFPEs) containing ammonium phosphate or triethoxysilane functionalities were evaluated as protective coatings that can be easily applied on anodized titanium surfaces.
Journal ArticleDOI

Photocatalytic activity of TiO2-embedded fluorinated transparent coating for oxidation of hydrosoluble pollutants in turbid suspensions

TL;DR: In this article, the photodegradative activity of titanium dioxide immobilized into a multilayered transparent fluoropolymeric matrix was studied, and the photoactive coating was developed by applying a TiO 2 containing fluorinated ionomeric dispersion and a perfluorinated amorphous polymer in an appropriate sequence directly on the UV source.
