Journal ArticleDOI

Optimizing aeration rate in an external nitrification–denitrifying phosphorus removal (ENDPR) system for domestic wastewater treatment

TL;DR: Results demonstrated that AAO-BAF could be operated stably with high removal efficiencies of NH 4 +, TN, and PO 4 3 - with low carbon requirement and low aeration rate (DO = 0.5 mg L−1, in AAO reactor).
Journal ArticleDOI

Pilot-scale demonstration of a novel process integrating Partial Nitritation with simultaneous Anammox, Denitrification and Sludge Fermentation (PN + ADSF) for nitrogen removal and sludge reduction.

TL;DR: In this article , a pilot-scale system integrating Partial Nitritation and simultaneous Anammox, Denitrification and Sludge Fermentation (PN + ADSF) process was developed to treat real municipal wastewater.
Journal ArticleDOI

The inactivation of bacteriophages MS2 and PhiX174 by nanoscale zero-valent iron: Resistance difference and mechanisms

TL;DR: The results showed that an initial concentration of 106 PFU/mL of MS2 could be completely inactivated within 240 min by 40 mg/L nZVI at pH 7, whereas the complete inactivation of PhiX174 could not be achieved by extending the reaction time, increasing the nZ VI dosage, or changing the dosing means.
Journal ArticleDOI

Assessing the Mass Concentration of Microplastics and Nanoplastics in Wastewater Treatment Plants by Pyrolysis Gas Chromatography–Mass Spectrometry

TL;DR: In this article , pyrolysis gas chromatography-mass spectrometry was used to determine the mass concentrations of microplastics (MPs) and nanoplastics (NPs) with different size ranges (0.01-1, 1-50, and 50-1000 μm) across the whole treatment schemes in two WWTPs.
