Development and evaluation of ontology for intelligent decision support in medical emergency management for mass gatherings

TL;DR: The proposed Domain Ontology for Mass Gatherings (DO4MG) demonstrates the potential of using ontology for resolving terminology inconsistencies and their usefulness for supporting communication between medical emergency personnel in mass gatherings and Intelligent decision support system architecture incorporating ontology is proposed.

The systems development or engineering approach to research in information systems: an action research perspective

TL;DR: This paper is concerned with a type of information systems research that is comparatively poorly understood – the "systems development" (SD) or "engineering" approach and the importance of recognizing the SD approach and relevant criteria for guiding and evaluating the validity and worth of such work.

Combining data mining and case-based reasoning for intelligent decision support for pathology ordering by general practitioners

TL;DR: The conclusion is that the formal methodology that integrates case-based reasoning principles which are inherently close to GPs' daily practice, and data-driven computationally intensive knowledge discovery mechanisms which can be applied to massive amounts of the pathology requests data routinely available at professional pathology companies, can facilitate more informed evidential decision making by doctors in the area of pathology ordering.
