The AML1-ETO fusion protein promotes the expansion of human hematopoietic stem cells.
James C. Mulloy,Jörg Cammenga,Karen L. MacKenzie,Francisco J Berguido,Malcolm A.S. Moore,Stephen D. Nimer +5 more
TL;DR: The acute myelogenous leukemia-1 (AML1)-ETO fusion protein is generated by the t(8;21), which is found in 40% of AMLs of the French-American-British M2 subtype as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI
Maintaining the self-renewal and differentiation potential of human CD34+ hematopoietic cells using a single genetic element
James C. Mulloy,Jorg Cammenga,Jorg Cammenga,Francisco J Berguido,Francisco J Berguido,Kaida Wu,Kaida Wu,Ping Zhou,Ping Zhou,Raymond L. Comenzo,Raymond L. Comenzo,Suresh C. Jhanwar,Suresh C. Jhanwar,Malcolm A.S. Moore,Malcolm A.S. Moore,Stephen D. Nimer,Stephen D. Nimer +16 more
TL;DR: The ability of the leukemia-associated AML1-ETO fusion protein to establish a reproducible technique that allows for the long-term ex vivo expansion of human HSCs and maintains self-renewal and multipotential differentiation is reported.
Journal ArticleDOI
The t(8;21) fusion protein, AML1/ETO, transforms NIH3T3 cells and activates AP-1
Richard C Frank,Richard C Frank,Xiao Sun,Francisco J Berguido,Andrzej Jakubowiak,Andrzej Jakubowiak,Stephen D. Nimer,Stephen D. Nimer +7 more
TL;DR: The results establish the transforming potential of the t(8;21) fusion protein and link this gain-of-function property to modulation of AP-1 activity.
Journal ArticleDOI
Development and Optimization of Indirect ELISAs for the Detection of Anti-Capripoxvirus Antibodies in Cattle, Sheep, and Goat Sera
Francisco J Berguido,Esayas Gelaye,Yang Liu,Batdorj Davaasuren,Kiril Krstevski,Igor Djadjovski,Emiliya Ivanova,Gabriela V. Goujgoulova,Angelika Loitsch,Eeva S.M. Tuppurainen,Tesfaye Rufael Chibssa,Philippe Caufour,Milena Samojlović,Sava Lazić,Tamaš Petrović,Dejan Vidanović,Stéphane Bertagnoli,Reingard Grabherr,Adama Diallo,Giovanni Cattoli,Charles Euloge Lamien +20 more
TL;DR: Two recombinant truncated proteins, the capripoxvirus homologs of the vaccinia virus C-type lectin-like protein A34 and the EEV glycoprotein A36, are expressed and tested as antigens for an indirect ELISA (iELISA) to detect anti-capripox virus antibodies, which could facilitate the implementation of capriox control programs through serosurveillance and the screening of animals for trade.
human CD34+ cells activity alters gene expression and differentiation of α Induction of C/EBP
TL;DR: The aim of this work is to provide a database of Hematopoiesis and Stem Cells research topics related to Oncogenes and Tumor Suppressors and Genomics, as well as other topics, to help researchers and clinicians better understand these topics.
