Ethanol steam reforming on Ni/Al2O3 catalysts: effect of the addition of Zn and Pt.

TL;DR: Ni-based catalysts supported on Zn-modified alumina were investigated in the ethanol steam reforming reaction and showed a high stability versus time on stream because of the control of the production of ethylene, a coke precursor.
Journal ArticleDOI

Zn-modified MCM-41 as support for Pt catalysts

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of Zn location and reduction temperature on pure and Zn-modified MCM-41 supported Pt catalysts was studied and it was shown that Zn improves the selectivity towards the formation of crotyl alcohol.
Book ChapterDOI

Chapter 9 – POROUS CARBONS IN ADSORPTION AND CATALYSIS

TL;DR: Porous carbons constitute a fascinating group of materials as mentioned in this paper and find a wide range of industrial applications in adsorption and catalysis, such as adsorbents, catalysts and catalyst supports, structural materials, and electrical devices.
Journal ArticleDOI

Hydrogen adsorption on KOH activated carbons from mesophase pitch containing Si, B, Ti or Fe

TL;DR: In this paper, different activated carbons with large micropore volume (0.78 − 0.99 cm 3 /g) have been prepared by KOH activation of mesophase pitch obtained by co-pyrolysis of a petroleum residue and small amounts of different compounds, triphenylsilane, borane pyridine complex, tetrabutyl orthotitanate or ferrocene.
