Journal ArticleDOI
Asteroseismology of alpha Cen A. Evidence of rotational splitting
TL;DR: In this paper, the acoustic spectrum of the star alpha Cen A was computed using the HARPS spectrograph and 34 p modes were identified with angular degree l = 0-3 in the frequency range 1.8-2.9 mHz and amplitude range 13-48 cm/s.
Journal ArticleDOI
Seismic analysis of the planet-hosting star μ Arae
TL;DR: In this article, the authors discussed the modelling of the star HD 160691 (alias μ Ara) and computed stellar models iterated to present the same observable parameters (luminosity, effective temperature, outer chemical composition) with differing internal structure according to the two extreme assumptions: original overmetallicity or accretion.
Journal ArticleDOI
A Spitzer Search for Water in the Transiting Exoplanet HD189733b
David Ehrenreich,Guillaume Hébrard,Alain Lecavelier des Etangs,David K. Sing,Jean-Michel Desert,François Bouchy,Roger Ferlet,Alfred Vidal-Madjar +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the Spitzer Space Telescope observations of the extrasolar planet HD189733b primary transit, obtained simultaneously at 3.6 and 5.8 microns with the Infrared Array Camera, were presented.
Journal ArticleDOI
The exoplanet-host star ι Horologii: An evaporated member of the primordial Hyades cluster
Sylvie Vauclair,M. Laymand,François Bouchy,G. Vauclair,A. Hui Bon Hoa,Stéphane Charpinet,Michael Bazot +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, it was shown that the exoplanet-host star iota Horologii, alias HD 17051, belongs to the so-called Hyades stream and has been formed within the primordial Hyades stellar cluster and has evaporated towards its present location, 40 kilometres away.
Journal ArticleDOI
The HARPS search for southern extra-solar planets - XV. Six long-period giant planets around BD -17 0063, HD 20868, HD 73267, HD 131664, HD 145377, and HD 153950
C. Moutou,Michel Mayor,G. Lo Curto,Stéphane Udry,François Bouchy,Willy Benz,C. Lovis,Dominique Naef,Francesco Pepe,D. Queloz,Nuno C. Santos +10 more
TL;DR: In this article, the discovery of six new substellar companions of main-sequence stars, detected by multiple Doppler measurements with the instrument HARPS installed on the ESO 3.6m telescope, La Silla, Chile, was reported.
