Journal ArticleDOI

Leishmania resistance to miltefosine associated with genetic marker.

TL;DR: During 2000–2010, serial Leishmania isolates obtained from an HIV-infected patient who was not responding to treatment showed a gradual decrease in in vitro miltefosine susceptibility, and a new single-nucleotide polymorphism (SNP), L832F, was identified, which might be a marker of milteFosine resistance in leishmaniasis.
Journal ArticleDOI

Synthesis and antikinetoplastid activities of 3-substituted quinolinones derivatives.

TL;DR: A new family of quinolinone derivatives has been synthesized and evaluated for their antikinetoplastid activities against Leishmania donovani and Trypanosoma brucei bruCEi, and compound 3b has emerged from this study as the most active compound in the series against T. b.
Journal ArticleDOI

Selection and phenotype characterisation of sitamaquine-resistant promastigotes of Leishmania donovani.

TL;DR: A Leishmania donovani promastigote line resistant to 160microM sitamaquine, named SITA-160R, was selected in vitro by continuous stepwise drug pressure and was stable when parasites were subcultured in drug-free medium for a long time or after in vivo passage.
