TL;DR: In this paper, the role of immunometabolism in COVID-19 pathogenesis remains unclear, but the authors found evidence of an immunometabolic dysregulation that can be mitigated by dexamethasone treatment.
Journal ArticleDOI
RNA-expression of adrenomedullin is increased in patients with severe COVID-19.
TL;DR: ADM expression was significantly elevated in patients with COVID-19 than other respiratory infections and was able to differentiate severe from non-severe CO VID-19 cases with an AUC of 0.82 (p = 0.024, 95% CI 0.64–1.0).
Journal ArticleDOI

TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of prior neurological diseases and the effect of neurological symptoms on outcome were studied using multivariate logistic regression using real-world data from a multinational registry.
Journal ArticleDOI
Perceived risks of adverse effects and influenza vaccination: a survey of hospital employees.
TL;DR: Overestimation of the actual low rates of influenza vaccine adverse effects was associated with non-receipt of the vaccine among hospital employees and educational and promotional programmes should be targeted differentially for nurses and physicians.
Journal ArticleDOI
Epidemiology of candidemia and impact of infectious disease consultation on survival and care.
TL;DR: An increase in candidemia rates and rates of non- albicans spp.
