TL;DR: In this article, a burner with a housing enclosing a combustion chamber and with an inlet for a gas/air fuel mixture and an outlet for combustion gas is disclosed, where a critical Peclet number for the pore size and accordingly for flame development results at a boundary surface or in a determined zone of the porous material, above which number a flame can develop and below which number the flame development is suppressed.
Abstract: A burner with a housing enclosing a combustion chamber and with an inlet for a gas/air fuel mixture and an outlet for combustion gas is disclosed. The combustion chamber is filled with a porous material whose porosity varies along the combustion chamber in such a way that the pore size increases in the direction of flow of the gas/air mixture so that a critical Peclet number for the pore size and accordingly for flame development results at a boundary surface or in a determined zone of the porous material, above which number a flame can develop and below which number the flame development is suppressed.

TL;DR: In this paper, the results of investigations in flashing flow behind a sudden constriction in vertical upflow are described, and it is found that bubble nucleation takes place in the recirculation zone immediately behind the constriction, which is the location of the lowest static pressure.

TL;DR: In this article, an advanced numerical approach for the simulation of epitaxial growth in metalorganic chemical vapor deposition reactors (MOCVD) is presented, based on the conservation equations for momentum and heat transfer combined with mass transfer including thermodiffusion and chemical reactions.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this article, a short literature survey of particle motion in fluids is provided, which relates to the motion of a small solid particle inside a thin liquid film and the particle motion is treated numerically to provide information of interest to thin film liquid coating.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this article, the authors considered the problem of slow elementary motions (relative translation and rotation) and stationary movement of a spherical particle next to a solid, viscous or free interface.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors extended the investigations to consider rotation of the float, which was not taken into account in earlier computations, in an effort to explain the observed discrepancies between experimental and numerical results.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this paper, the problem of a translational slow motion of a droplet with a viscous interface in a liquid layer bounded by viscous liquid-gas interfaces is considered.
