Journal ArticleDOI

Wnt signaling pathway in mammary gland development and carcinogenesis.

TL;DR: Recent evidence suggests the role of Wnt signaling in human breast cancer involves elevated levels of nuclear and/or cytoplasmic β-catenin using immunohistochemistry, overexpression or downregulation of specific Wnt proteins, overeexpression of CKII and sFRP4, down regulation of WIF-1 and s FRP1, as well as amplification of DVL-1.
Journal ArticleDOI

Differentiation of tumours of ductal and lobular origin: I. Proteomics of invasive ductal and lobular breast carcinomas.

TL;DR: Some histological and immunohistochemical characteristics of pleomorphic lobular carcinoma are discussed and the significance of E-CD associated proteins alpha-, beta-catenin expression, as well as the usefulness of cytokeratins 5, 6, 8, 7 and thrombospondin in differentiating histological types of breast invasive carcinomas are described.
Journal ArticleDOI

A case of osteoclast-like giant cell tumor of the pancreas associated with borderline mucinous cystic neoplasm.

TL;DR: The histological diagnosis “osteoclast-like giant cell tumor of the pancreas associated with borderline mucinous cystic neoplasm” was made and the patient recovered and is free of disease 4 years after the diagnosis.
Journal Article

Mammary gland development and cancer.

TL;DR: The extensive research currently being done in molecular biology and pathology, cancer genomics and proteomics will hopefully contribute to further elucidation of all the genetic and environmental factors involved in the development, differentiation, and involution of the mammary gland and this may give insight into the etiopathogenesis, early detection, treatment, and potential prevention of breast cancer.
Journal Article

Clinical characteristics of prognostic factors in uterine endometrioid adenocarcinoma of various grade.

TL;DR: The results lead to conclude that the histological grade of uterine endometrioid adeno carcinoma seems to be an important independent prognostic indicetor as it is strongly associated with other clinical pathological prognostic factors.
