Journal ArticleDOI

Photosynthesis, photoinhibition and low temperature acclimation in cold tolerant plants.

TL;DR: It is concluded that the photosynthetic response to low temperatures and susceptibility to photoinhibition are consequences of the overwintering strategy of the plant species.
Journal ArticleDOI

Low-Temperature Effects on Photosynthesis and Correlation with Freezing Tolerance in Spring and Winter Cultivars of Wheat and Rye

TL;DR: Winter cultivars of rye and wheat grown at cold-hardening temperatures showed, at high irradiances, a higher proportion of oxidized to reduced primary, stable quinone receptor (QA) than did the same cultivars grown under nonhardening conditions, suggesting that low-temperature modulation of the photosynthetic apparatus may be an important factor during the induction of freezing resistance in cereals.
Journal ArticleDOI

Low-temperature stress and photoperiod affect an increased tolerance to photoinhibition in pinus-banksiana seedlings

TL;DR: The capacity to develop tolerance to photoinhibition of photosynthesis was assessed in jack pine seedlings (Pinus banksiana Lamb).
Journal ArticleDOI

A Transient Exchange of the Photosystem II Reaction Center Protein D1:1 with D1:2 during Low Temperature Stress ofSynechococcus sp. PCC 7942 in the Light Lowers the Redox Potential of QB

TL;DR: In this paper, the photosystem II reaction center D1 protein form I (D1:1) was exchanged with D1 proteins form II (D 1:2) under constant light conditions by the cyanobacterium Synechococcus sp.
