Journal ArticleDOI

Heterogeneity of tumor prognostic markers: a reproducibility study applied to liver metastases of pancreatic endocrine tumors

TL;DR: Tissue microarray analysis identifies heterogeneity of protein expression in pancreatic endocrine metastases, which depends on the marker tested, and the reproducibility is better for MIB-1 and somatostatin receptor type 2 than for microvascular density.
Journal ArticleDOI

Impact of ultrasound imaging on local corticosteroid injections of symptomatic ankle, hind-, and mid-foot in chronic inflammatory diseases.

TL;DR: US frequently led the physician to change his diagnosis of inflammatory lesions in painful foot, and consequently his planning of CS injections, and moreover, US could improve the response to local treatment.
Journal ArticleDOI

Diagnostic accuracy of serum hepcidin for iron deficiency in critically ill patients with anemia

TL;DR: Hepcidin levels may be suppressed by ID even in case of inflammation, and the optimal threshold for serum hepcidin for ID diagnosis was found at 129.5 µg/l, which was the most accurate threshold in critically ill patients with anemia.
Journal ArticleDOI

Temporal trends in percutaneous mitral commissurotomy over a 15-year period

TL;DR: Over this 15-year period, candidates for PMC became older and had a less favourable anatomy, but underwent PMC at an earlier functional stage, and the stability of the results, despite the less favourable characteristics, may be related to the role of experience in improving the technique and patient selection.
