Journal ArticleDOI

Mini- and micro-channels: influence of axial conduction in the walls

TL;DR: In this paper, a non-dimensional number quantifying the part of axial conduction in walls of a mini-micro counter-flow heat exchanger is proposed, which is shown to be a good approximation of the heat transfer coefficient.
Journal ArticleDOI

Review of the current technologies and performances of hydrogen compression for stationary and automotive applications

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present the technical and design features of mechanical compressors, i.e., reciprocating, diaphragm, linear and ionic liquid compressors as well as innovative non-mechanical technologies specifically conceived for hydrogen applications.
Journal ArticleDOI

Degradation heterogeneities induced by repetitive start/stop events in proton exchange membrane fuel cell: Inlet vs. outlet and channel vs. land

TL;DR: In this paper, the aging heterogeneities that set up during PEMFC operation in start-up and shut down conditions were investigated based on in situ measurements of local current densities, electrochemical surface area of Pt at the cathode in a segmented cell and overall CO2 generation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Carbon corrosion induced by membrane failure: The weak link of PEMFC long-term performance

TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the origin of the cell voltage losses during on-site 110-cell-PEMFC-stack long-term operation (12,860h i.e. 1.5 years) and showed that the decline of electrical performance is heterogeneous at the stack and the membrane-electrode assembly (MEA) scales.
