Journal ArticleDOI

From Vanadia Nanoclusters to Ultrathin Films on TiO2(110): Evolution of the Yield and Selectivity in the Ethanol Oxidation Reaction

TL;DR: In this article, the results of a multitechnique surface science study conducted on an oxide/oxide model system were reported, where three growth modes were detected: nanoclusters at low coverage (0.3 and 0.5 monolayer), one-dimensional strands aligned along the substrate [001] direction at monoline coverage, and three-dimensional nanoislands at higher coverage (2.0 and 5.0 monolayers).
Journal ArticleDOI

Upcycling of polyurethane into iron-nitrogen-carbon electrocatalysts active for oxygen reduction reaction

TL;DR: In this article, the synthesis of iron-nitrogen-carbon (Fe-N-C) electrocatalysts starting from a mix of polyethylene (PE) and polyurethane (PU) by adding FeCl3 as an iron source for promoting Fe-Nx sites formation was presented.
Journal ArticleDOI

An easy and cheap chemical route using a MOF precursor to prepare Pd–Cu electrocatalyst for efficient energy conversion cathodes

TL;DR: In this paper, a copper metal-organic framework (MOF) was used as a sacrificial precursor for carbon supported bimetallic palladium-copper nanoparticles (PdCu/C).
Journal ArticleDOI

Stable, Active, and Methanol-Tolerant PGM-Free Surfaces in an Acidic Medium: Electron Tunneling at Play in Pt/FeNC Hybrid Catalysts for Direct Methanol Fuel Cell Cathodes

TL;DR: In this paper, PEMFC and direct methanol fuel can be used as catalysts for O2 reduction reaction, but they suffer from low stability in acid medium in proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFC).
