Journal ArticleDOI
Bone substitutes in orthopaedic surgery: from basic science to clinical practice
Vincenzo Campana,Giuseppe Milano,Ernesto Damiano Pagano,Marta Barba,Claudia Cicione,G. Salonna,Wanda Lattanzi,Giandomenico Logroscino +7 more
TL;DR: The alternative available techniques used for bone fusion are reviewed and update, along with some hints on the advancements achieved through the experimental research in this field.
Journal ArticleDOI
Arthroscopic versus open treatment of Bankart lesion of the shoulder: a prospective randomized study.
Carlo Fabbriciani,Giuseppe Milano,Antonello Demontis,Salvatore Fadda,Fabio Ziranu,Pierdamiano Mulas +5 more
TL;DR: Arthroscopic repair with suture anchors is an effective surgical technique for the treatment of an isolated Bankart lesion, but open repair does not offer a significantly better 2-year result in terms of stability, and furthermore, can negatively affect the recovery of full range of motion of the shoulder.
Journal ArticleDOI
Comparison between different femoral fixation devices for ACL reconstruction with doubled hamstring tendon graft: a biomechanical analysis.
Giuseppe Milano,Pier Damiano Mulas,Fabio Ziranu,Stefano Piras,Andrea Fabio Manunta,Carlo Fabbriciani +5 more
TL;DR: Transcondylar devices offer the best structural properties for femoral fixation of doubled hamstring tendon graft in ACL reconstruction, and Cortical-cancellous suspension fixation seemed to offer thebest and most predictable results in terms of elongation, fixation strength, and stiffness.
Journal ArticleDOI
Outcome of children with acute leukemia given HLA-haploidentical HSCT after αβ T-cell and B-cell depletion
Franco Locatelli,Pietro Merli,Daria Pagliara,Giuseppina Li Pira,Michela Falco,Daniela Pende,Roberto Rondelli,Barbarella Lucarelli,Letizia Pomponia Brescia,Riccardo Masetti,Giuseppe Milano,Valentina Bertaina,Mattia Algeri,Rita Maria Pinto,Luisa Strocchio,Raffaella Meazza,L. Grapulin,Rupert Handgretinger,Alessandro Moretta,Alice Bertaina,Lorenzo Moretta +20 more
TL;DR: The data indicate that haplo-HSCT after αβ T- and B-cell depletion represents a competitive alternative for children with AL in need of urgent allograft.
Journal ArticleDOI
Risk of malignancies using anti-TNF agents in rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis: a systematic review and meta-analysis.
Stefanos Bonovas,Silvia Minozzi,Theodore Lytras,Marien González-Lorenzo,Valentina Pecoraro,Silvia Colombo,Ilaria Polloni,Lorenzo Moja,Michela Cinquini,Valentina Marino,Delia Goletti,Andrea Matucci,Giuliano Tocci,Giuseppe Milano,Raffaele Scarpa,Fabrizio Cantini +15 more
TL;DR: A systematic review and meta-analysis of published randomized studies found statistically significant increases in the occurrence of any infections, serious infections, and tuberculosis associated with anti-TNF drug use, while the data for opportunistic infections were scarce.
